TRM GNF or Gut Nutrition Formula has been developed by TRM to maintain optimum gut health and function in all horses, but especially those in training or competing at a high level. The easy to feed GNF pellet contains essential minerals, calcium and magnesium, specific amino acids, Glutamine and threonine, in high concentrations, prebiotics and seaweed.
A scientific study in 2006 used Thoroughbreds with gastric ulcers to demonstrate the effectiveness of TRM GNF on the reduction of gastric ulcers in horses in training. The main finding was that Thoroughbreds with mild to moderate gastic ulceration showed a 70% reduction in ulcer score when fed TRM GNF. The Thoroughbreds that were not fed with TRM GNF showed a 40% increase in score. TRM GNF, therefore is a very useful nutritional support for horses in training that are suffering or potential at risk from gastric ulcers.
All horses in training should be fed 50g of TRM GNF twice daily. Ponies and foals require 25g twice daily.
