The Sweet Itch (anti-eczema) sheet/rug from Equi-Theme. These are slightly on the small side so please order a size larger than usual, e.g. if your horse is usually 5'9 order a 6'0.
Skin eczema is an allergic reaction with different causes and can involve itching, flushing and inflammation, as well as weeping blisters. Summer dermatitis is caused by a mosquito or midge bite, which the horse can have an allergic reaction to. It shows by itching on the mane, the tail, the withers, the head, the hind-quarters, and can spread to the whole horse's body, eventually the horse may scratch itself raw.
The Equitheme Sweet Itch Rug Set is made of a 100% soft and tightly weaved polyester, the "Anti-eczema" sheet prevents small insects getting through, while the horse feels comfortable.
Dense and absorbing, the rug wicks moisture and reduces the damaging effects of UV rays on the sensitive skin. It fully protects from the neck to the tail and is equipped with adjustable flaps and adjustable elastic straps on the extremities (neck and rear legs) with PVC clips.
It comes with a wide removable belly protector girth that fully covers the stomach. The belly cover doubles the flank protection because it overlaps around the sides and it is fitted with clip fastenings on each side.
The rug is elasticated and adjustable; it perfectly fits your horse's body shape.
