The Shires two ring gag with hollow mouth is made from stainless steel which safe and easy to clean. Due to the lightweight nature of the hollow mouth bits, they are considered to be kinder than solid bits.
The jointed mouth 2 ring gag demonstrates a nutcracker action and has the capacity to use poll pressure: the lower the rein, the greater the leverage.

The length of the sides varies with bit size. The 4.5" and 5" bits come with sides that measure 115mm from top to bottom, whilst the 5.5" and 6" bits have 145mm sides
